Sam is home and Austin Walks!

Sam got home in the middle of the night on the 19th/20th.  You can look back at the previous pictures in January and compare how much Austin grew while Sam was gone.

He also reminded his Dad about how to read.

Yesterday Austin took a few steps on his own.  He also took a few steps "uncoached" this morning when he walked from the coffee table to the couch.  Now whenever he is standing, he tries to walk somewhere.  He's growing up so fast!

I know it's been a while

I know it's been a while since I've posted something on here, but it's been busy around here.  We are trying to get ready for Sam to come home.  He is on his way and having to try to avoid the ash cloud from Iceland.  We'll see if they can get home this weekend.  So far, he is in Spain.

Austin is now 10 months old and I can't believe how big he is getting.  He's still not big compared to all the other babies, but he's definitely bigger than he used to be.  On his 10 month birthday, he took a few steps toward me at a friend's house.  I stood him up in the floor and went to let her dogs outside since we were getting ready to have dinner.  When I turned around, he was still standing there rather than plopping down like usual.  I got closer to him and squatted down.  I called him over and he took about 3 short steps before flinging himself into my arms.  He's so sweet.

He also hit a major milestone today.  I noticed at lunch a white bump in his gums.  When I got him up from his nap this afternoon, I stuck my finger in his mouth to feel of the bump and it was SHARP!  Our little "Boss Man" is sprouting a tooth!  Yay for milestones.

I was hoping for him to wait until Sam got home, but he waited until a few days before he arrives to showoff his hidden talents.  Oh, well.

The Beach

Austin and I took a little trip to see Granny and PawPaw last week.  Here are a few new shots of the fun we had.

Austin tried out having his own seat on the airplane.  He liked it okay, but wanted my lap after a few minutes.

Austin is riding in style thanks to his Granny.  Now PawPaw can pick a fight with the new "Boss Man".

I think I birthed a daredevil.

Pretty flowers I planted today in my planter box on the deck.  They smell heavenly.  Then I was attacked by two GIANT bumblebees and a wasp.
