Most Recent Doctor's Appointment

Well, Sam and I went to the doctor this morning.  I had the lovely pleasure (totally sarcastic, by the way) of getting measured and I am 2 cm dilated which means I'm on my way to a baby!  Sam didn't believe me when I told him that the baby could come anytime past 36 weeks, but I think hearing it from the doctor herself made him realize that I was serious.  So now we have to wait either for my water to break, for regular contractions, or any serious pain and we'll be making our way to Labor and Delivery at UAMS!  I'm excited and anxious.  I'm ready to have my body back or some of it, but I'm also very anxious about having a new little person around the house.  Mom is making plans to come next week just in case and my grandparents are already in Houston and might just stop through Arkansas next week.  It's crazy!

Other than that, no news to report.  I had Sam move some of that stuff I was talking about out of the babies room and onto the couch so that I can work on sorting through that stuff today.  I have one box done so far and three more to go.  FUN FUN!

Baby's Room...so far

Well, I have determined that I am not very good at taking pictures of rooms.  But in any case, here is what I have of the room so far.  We still have to hang a curtain and a couple of pictures on the wall.  I also need to move out all the trash from unwrapping baby stuff and a couple of boxes of my stuff that needs to find a new home.  I'm hoping to be able to get that accomplished this week, but I know that it is already Wednesday and that probably won't happen.

Here's the new guest bathroom too.  I just got all the stuff yesterday.  I couldn't resist going with a frog theme.

Only three more weeks and Austin will be here.  I'm hoping he graces us with is presence a little bit early so that I can go back to breathing normally and be rid of the heartburn.

35 Weeks and 3 Days

Since I am showered and dressed and everything today, I thought that I would post another belly photo.  It doesn't look like much has changed since 31 weeks, but here I am and 35.5 weeks.

Getting Close

Well, we are closing in on a month until Little Austin gets here.  I know I said I was going to work on his room this week, but all I got done was painting some wooden letters to spell out his name on the wall.  Today I am working on washing everything so it will be ready and I may even install the car seat next week (just to be on the safe side).  I need some muscle to move out the remaining boxes from his room, hang the letters I painted and hang a curtain.  Then his room will be ready for his arrival!

Then it will be time to get the rest of the house ready!  I had a good doctor's appointment on Friday.  I'll go back again on the 29th and then I'll start going every week until the little man gets here.

Sam and I have been going to baby classes for the past two weeks.  We've gone through the two important ones.  CPR and safety is our next class together and I have a breastfeeding class next week.  We toured the hospital this weekend so now we know where to go and what to do.  I'll probably start packing our bags as well.  Then it will be a hurry-up and wait situation.

Mother's Day

So what are my plans for my first Mother's Day?  Well, I'm planning on doing nothing!  I'm going to try to finish reading a book I've been working on for three months and just relax.

Tomorrow, I'm going to start really working on little Austin's room.  I have to clear out some boxes, paint and use the glue gun on some wooden letters, put together some pictures, and wash everything!  Hopefully I will be able to post some pictures after that so you all can see his set up.

Then it will be time to work on my own room.  I get to clear my closet of all those stuffy business suits and fill in the space with normal clothes!  I can't wait!  It still hasn't really sunk in that I'm not going back to work in a few days.  It's really weird.  I'm still keeping a planner because I'm O.C.D. like that so life by itself still feels like work.

Yesterday I hung out with Lisa and worked on another baby quilt for Austin.  The first one I made went to Granny's house.  It had a few mistakes because it was my first attempt at quilting.  So far, this one is turning out better, but I still have to do the binding so there's still time for some mistakes.

Sam has started going back to work.  So far, he doesn't like it.  But what can you expect?  Alot changes around here in four months.  He'll get into a routine somehow and things will go back to normal.  We're thinking that he may not have to deploy again until June.  That would be great, but it would mean that he'll miss Austin's first birthday by a week or so (unless he decides to come early).

Look for pictures sometime this week of Austin's room!
