He's HERE!

This is us on Monday morning at 5:30 am. We are on our way out the door to become new parents!

Austin Finn Dunlap made his debut into the world on June 15, 2009 at 4:11 pm. He was 6 lbs and 4 oz. He is perfect in everyway and as sweet as can be. We came home on June 17 with almost a clean bill of health. Austin has a little bit of jaundice that needs to work itself out. So far we've been to the pediatrician twice and he's doing fine. On Friday, he weighed in a 6 lbs 2 oz which means he only lost a couple of ounces since he was born. Today we went back for a follow-up and he gained back an ounce overnight! I don't want him to grow up that quickly. We shouldn't have to go back until our one month appointment.

We also have been on our first outing to the mall on Thursday. I can't stay in the house very long without going stir crazy. No worries though, we went on a weekday and early in the morning so there wouldn't be many people around. We also went for our first stroll around the block this evening.

So far, Austin is a champion sleeper, eater, and pooper. He would sleep through the night if we would let him, but since babies need to eat so often we are forced to disturb his slumber.

I never experienced love at first sight before, but I know now that this is definitely it. I'm not sure how I ever lived without him. I want him near me every second of everyday from now on.
