UPDATE!
Okay, so I know I was supposed to be keeping up with this better, but that was when Sam was still home, the animals weren't driving me crazy, school was out, and I was in town for work. So I'm sorry that this has been less than up-to-date. I will post important news though
So here we go! I had a doctor's appointment on Friday and we are pretty sure that we are having a boy. As you can see from the pictures, we couldn't get a real clear image on the in-office machine, but I am scheduled for the full blown ultrasound on February 13th. Yes, I will be checking out "little nug" on Friday the 13th! Once I see him again then, we can be sure whether it's a he or a she. Right now I'm going with a "he" though. It was so incredible to get to see the baby again. The last time I saw it, it was just a ball of flickering cells. Now it looks like a real person which is kind of weird to think that there is an actual person growing in there and not some scary looking tadpole. I will have to say that I am quite a bit more excited about having a boy than I thought I would be. The thought of a mini-Sam was a little scary, but now the thought of a mini-Sam that is going to love me the way little boys adore their mommies, just makes me want to do back flips. I think that Sam is on the opposite end of that spectrum though. I think that deep down, he was hoping for a girl so that she could have him wrapped around that little finger and make him melt. I think he's more nervous about having a boy than he or I thought he would be. But whatever, the case, as long as it's healthy, I'm happy. If it is a boy though, I have an incentive to have another one so he can have a mini-Sam and I can have a mini-Caroline. I know I've only been feeling better for two weeks and for the last ten I've been miserable, but I could do it again.
On another happy note, I am feeling MUCH better. I have been off the anti nausea meds for two weeks now and things are great. Of course, if I don't eat when I need to I start feeling a little sick, but other than that, the constant nausea and impending vomiting is gone. I am also not experiencing any heartburn and only mild indegestion. So YAY! Like always though, I'm sure I will be hit with it next week since I'm celebrating its absence
I'm posting another belly picture since it's been about a month. This was taken today and I am 18 weeks and 1 day along. I am also posting a picture of the new "mom-mobile". Sam graciously let me trade my four door sedan for a four door SUV. It has everything that I want on it (heated seats, i-Pod jack, DVD players for the back seat, and more space to haul the family).

The New Year
Well, it's a new year, but more of the same so far. I had a good Christmas with my parents and my grandparents. I've managed to do some housework which was way over due. I don't think I've vacuumed since Sam left and that was almost a month ago. With two cats and two dogs, that's a long time. But the living room and the office are clean! Now I just need to work on the bedroom.
So far, I'm still sick, but my doctor said it could last until 17 weeks. I'm 16 weeks today so I'm hoping that it will pass sometime over the next week or I'm going to be really grumpy for the next five and a half months.
My next doctor's appointment is in two weeks and I may be able to find out what we are having and I should be able to update "Nugget's" picture so that you can actually see the baby
That's all for now. Nothing too exciting going on around here. It's just chilly and I'm trying to stay indoors.

March for Babies

After marching last year and having yet another person I know have a baby that was born prematurely and survive, I have decided to stay dedicated to the cause. The march isn't until April 25 and I will be very pregnant. I will be attempting to participate anyway and hopefully Sam will be home to join me. So please help me and when you can, donate a little towards the cause so that one day we can all have healthy babies. I'll have my donation ticker back up in a few weeks.
I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I won't be posting anymore until then.
And here starts the bump watch. There's not much of one right now and I will cover up as time goes on, but I thought I'd show it while it's not totally unsightly!

Way Behind
Ok, give me a little break. I know it's been a long time since I got on here to let you know what's going on with me. I could list the excuses, but I'm not going to whine today. At least that's my goal. I'm still a bit nauseated. I saw the doctor this week and she said it could last as long as 17 weeks or it may last the entire time. Hopefully 17 weeks will be as long as it takes. Everything else at the doctor was good. I heard little "nugget's" heart beat again. It is definitely bigger because it was easier to find this time and it stayed in one place longer than three seconds. It is an amazing sound.
I braved Target last night to buy my first pair of maternity jeans! And let me just say they are fabulous. I'm not really showing yet, but my pants were getting a little awkward around the waist. But now that I've slipped into my new jeans today, I don't think I ever want to take them off. They are like sweat pants without looking so atrocious. I think everyone should buy them, pregnant or not. They are like heaven.
That's about all the update I have so far. My next appointment is on January 16th and I may find out if "nugget" is a boy or girl. I'll have to come up with a new nickname after that. =)
